Nano care textile effects

The “textile effects” nano coatings range delivers innovative finishes for functional textiles, smooth leather and suede. Smart surfaces are re-created on a molecular level using textile products and are improved by nanotechnology boosters.

By combining innovative materials with well-established foundation technologies, we create Intelligent Hybrids®: systems that set new benchmarks in textile performance.

Tex Water Repellent Textile Coating is a water-based spray-on product that has been developed with the home application sector in mind. The simple spray application makes this an ideal product for own-label retail, leisure and outdoor sports/equestrian sectors.

The hydrophobic easy-clean coating is also ideal for the following domestic applications:

  • Absorbent upholstered furniture
  • Suede
  • Alcantara leather
  • Most carpets and curtains (must be free from dirt and surface-active residues)

The Tex range versatility comes from its ability to form a water, dirt and oil repellent effect within the fabric’s fibres. This user-friendly, water-based, non-hazardous SiO2 coating is available in a range of strengths depending on application requirements.

The Tex Range is Ökotex certified (ECO Passport), UV stable and non-migratory.

The F-Bond Textile Coating system has been developed in collaboration with one of the world’s largest textile manufacturers to address the potential loss in performance between the transition from C8 fluorocarbons to C6 fluorocarbons in order to meet environmental targets. This has involved the creation of boosters based on ultra-thin silicon dioxide. Boosters give C6 technology a greater impact whilst significantly reducing the amount of fluorine through the intelligent arrangement of SiO2 coatings and C6 fluorocarbons – meaning that a C8 performance can be achieved with only a 3% content C6 solution.

F-Bond Textile Coating is an in-process manufacturing coating system that combines several concentrates which are diluted and applied using the foulard/padding process:

  • Nanoflex® TH4 – silica-backbone and boosters (cationic)
  • Nanoflex® F-Bond – ecologically optimised C6 fluorocarbon polymer (mild cationic)
  • Nanoflex® W11 – crosslinker for adhesion
  • Nanoflex® WA – wetting agent (for wetting issues)

F-Bond Textile Coating is Ökotex certified (ECO Passport), UV stable and non-migratory.

Liquid Guard® Textile Antimicrobial Spray is a water-based multi-functional spray-on product. Primarily, it has antimicrobial properties, which are tested and certified to kill the following bacteria and viruses on contact:-

  • TGEV Coronavirus
  • Influenza A
  • Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA = methicillin-resilient Staphylococcus aureus)
  • Escherichia coli (intestinal bacteria)
  • Klebsiella pneumoniae (odour-creating bacteria)
  • Listeria monocytogenes (food-stuff)
  • Salmonella choleraesuis (food-stuff)
  • Aspergillus niger (slightly sporicidal)
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Enterococcus hirae

Additionally, it effectively removes fungal and bacterial colonies from fabrics such as mattresses and mattress covers thereby reducing the feeding stock of house dust mites.

The antimicrobial function makes it an ideal coating for use on the following items of personal apparel and equipment: –

  • Health care uniforms
  • Masks
  • Kit bags

The coating also repels water and dirt making it highly suitable for use in high traffic public and commercial spaces – including hotel lobbies, bedrooms and on restaurant seating.

  • Bed runners and decorative cushions
  • Carpets and curtains
  • Commercial soft furnishings
  • Automotive upholstery

Liquid Guard® Textile Antimicrobial Spray is applied to clean and dry fabric (free from surface active substances, such as silicon & surfactants) with any mist spray system. The coating is fully cured after six hours and is resistant to approximately twelve washes, or in the case of upholstery, it should be re-applied every twelve months.

For application on to smooth leather, Liquid Guard® Textile should be sprayed and polished out after application and then left to cure for six hours.

We take our environmental responsibility extremely seriously which is why Liquid Guard® Textile Antimicrobial Spray is free from SVHC (especially fluorine, PBT/PvB- & SVHC substances)
